Photographic Philosophy

I believe the best images often come from those unplanned moments, the unexpected surprises that happen when you are naturally interacting with each other and not posing for the camera. I especially love to document the quirky and fun and I’m always keeping an eye out for the photos that will make you smile and laugh.

Generally, the photos we carry with us in our hearts and our memories are not perfectly posed portraits. The images we revisit often are the photos that show us the personalities of the subjects. This is my goal, to create for you, beautiful family heirlooms that you want to look at all the time, so you can see those little sparkles of mischief and happiness in the eyes of your loves.

Background and Training

Deborah received her BFA in fine art and her masters degree in photojournalism. She worked with a number of publications including The Austin American Statesman and The New York Times. Her maternity portraits have been featured in Pregnancy Magazine and on KEYE news.

After the birth of her children, she decided to join her experience and skill in crafting compelling visual stories with her love of photographing the little people in her life. She now works with families to document and capture the emotions and beauty of welcoming these new lives and loves.
